There are two parts that trouble me: a) Windows disengaged my third-party firewall and enabled its own firewall, and b) the X52 has been working on Windows for months on the same USB port (then it started needing restarts and driver re-installs, no nothing). Thankfully that card works fine in my new 10700k build running Win10 Pro, using the latest logitech supplied X52 Pro drivers. I ended up buying a pci-e adapter card which sports a USB EHCI chipset years ago, which solved that incompatibility problem. BUT.years ago I found that its USB chipset, at least in the one I own, is incompatible with USB XHCI.period! Even though XHCI "supports" USB 2.0, plugging my X52 into such a XHCI port always hung my computer. Just finished a MSFS flight around Kenai Fjords in Alaska and everything about my 'stick worked perfectly. Life is good again. No problems here with my 2006 vintage Saitek X52 Pro in Windows 10. I'm from Sweden and my windows is in Swedish which might cause problems when I try to specify where to go in the computer, but I hope you get the idea. This might not be the solution to everyone but it worked for me. There you choose generic usb (NOT THE X52 PRO!).

Instead you want to choose what usb driver to install yourself.

Then pick the option that doesnt automatically update drivers. Right click and choose to update drivers. There I found the USB symbol with a triangle and red exclamation mark.

Se here: It still didn't work.įinal solution: After doing the above steps I downloaded latest drivers and when prompted to plug in x52 pro usb I did as told, but then immediately went in to Device manager. Then I deleted all evidence of ever installing any Saitek product. First I thought there would be a problem with the ubs 3.0 my MB supports, and because of that I disabled xHCI in the bios.

More specifically, when i was told to attach x52 pro-usb to computer i couldnt click next to go on with the installation (as if I hadn't connected it to the computer at all). Because of this I could not install saitek/madcatz drivers. When I connected the x52 pro-usb to the computer-usb the computer did not want to register/install the x52 pro, at least it installed it so it didnt work. I will provide the solution here so that I might help someone else out. its a dangerous galaxy out there!Īfter about 8 hours on forums I solved the problem with my x52 pro. Meet you out there commanders, and fly safe. I decided to share this with the community as this has cost me 4 days of trying, rebooting, retrying and re-rebooting to find out and a fair few hours of annoyance, which naturally caused me to lose good game time! I fixed it as follows after downloading the V6 Saitek drivers - google them and you should be able to find them.Ģ) Delete all Saitek/Mad Catz related files from C:\Windows\Tempģ) Delete any Saitek/input related devices showing a warning from your device manager (Computer ! Manage ! Device manager), uninstalling drivers if you get the optionĤ) Check for any the Saitek X52 pro Flight Controller drivers in the device manager under Human Interface Devices and delete them, uninstalling the drivers if you get the optionĥ) Delete any Saitek drivers from C:\Windows\System32\Drivers (Add the "Company" column and sort on that to find them quickly)Ħ) In regedit, navigate to KEY_CURRENT_USER\System\Control\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\DirectInput and delete and "VID_" subkeys (Careful if you have other sticks too as they also may need reinstalling!)ħ) Reboot PC again, with the X52 Pro still detachedĩ) Run the drivers installation package, the one I downloaded was called Saitek_X52Pro_Flight_Controller_SD6_64.exeġ0) Only when the installer prompts for it, attach the X52 Pro, ensuring you are using a USB 2 port - when you use a USB 3 port it will fail and you need to start againġ1) If the throttle and MFD still not work, run the DirectOutput.msi which you should be able to find here: C:\Windows\Temp\Saitek\Saitek_X52Pro_Flight_Controller_SD6_64_Drivers00000013ġ2) Reconnect the PC to the internet and reboot one last timeġ3) Dont install the Saitek programming toolkit! Doing so upgrades you to V7 drivers and you need to start again! When downloading the latest Saitek drivers and control software however, the throttle would not light up, the MFD was displaying a generic boot message, and upon changing any settings using the joy.cpl applet the PC would be "soft locked": applications start slow and Windows shutdown/reboots fail. The system I was installing on was brand new, and the Windows 7 Pro install was completely fresh and updated. Right, I hope this may be some help for people that have issues similar as me when installing their Saitek X52 Pro on a brand new Windows 圆4 installation.
